Job Title: Director/Pastor of Congregation Growth & Care

Ministry/Department: Discipleship

Reports to: Central Ministries Pastor

Status: Full-time, exempt

Supervisory Role: Yes

Objective

To support The Church of Eleven22\u00AE\u00A0vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen their\u00A0relationship with Jesus Christ by effectively developing and leading the implementation of all strategies related to adult discipleship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and\u00A0vision-casting for the discipleship team
  • Own the strategy,\u00A0pace\u00A0and measurable goals for welcome, connections, next steps, encounters, baptism, covenant membership, deacons and care ministries
  • Coach Campus Ministers on how to grow as disciple-making\u00A0disciples and how to run the central discipleship plays
  • Lead in biblical stewardship through direction and oversight of\u00A0budgets connected to welcome, connections, encounters, baptism, covenant membership, deacon and care ministries
  • Lead the welcome and connections ministries for the first and next steps at Eleven22
  • Help with the launching of campuses in developing the welcome and connections plays
  • Help review and build appropriate plays for all aspects of the \u201Cstreet to seat\u201D of Eleven22
  • Create and manage \u2018first steps\u2019 and \u2018next steps\u2019 processes for an expanding multisite\u00A0church
  • Develop process of gathering and analyzing data (post each discipleship event) to determine overall health of the flock and make informed decisions for future\u00A0events
  • Creating environments and content using the Eleven22\u00A0discipleship\u00A0journey
  • Provide consistent presence at\u00A0campus\u00A0discipleship environments and events at all locations to provide support, encouragement, coaching and evaluation to team\u00A0members
  • Partner with film and digital ministries to curate and produce digital next steps
    • Develop a library of digital resources
  • Develop and help launch a growth track to create a process by which we help everyone find their place, know how to grow spiritually and know how to connect and engage in the life of Eleven22
  • Lead the covenant membership, baptism and deacon ministries and processes for the church
  • Support the encounters ministry in planning and hosting encounters annually
  • Lead and support the Care ministry
  • Work with Care Director to continue to care for the body of Eleven22
  • Work with Care Director on in-service elements to help the congregation take steps of faith in response to the sermons
  • Developing scalable ministry models
  • Think through current and new models of discipleship environments in a growing multisite church

  • Proven ability to cast vision to both individuals and teams with a focus on adult disciple-making discipleship,\u00A0spiritual formation, assimilation and\u00A0teaching
  • Experience designing and implementing strategies to build:
    • Intentional discipleship programs at a high level
    • Large-scale connection/assimilation programs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Campus Ministries Pastor. Days and hours of work may vary.

The church has several big events, (\u201CAll-Skates\u201D) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary\u00A0and\u00A0would also require close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer.\u00A0Some travel might also be required.

Ministerial Exception

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).

Staff members who qualify under the ministerial exception are not covered by federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws. Please see the Human Resources Ministry team if you have questions on whether you are subject to the ministerial exception.
